The low height means I have tons of wall space for my pictures, a huge bonus. I have an Ikea bookshelf on either side and it looks like a unified set! Great for a bedroom or a hallway/entryway that needs extra storage. It can be assembled by one person but I recommend having a friend help bring it in. Most importantly, the final product looks great, as expected from the show room. But after decades of putting together dozens of IKEA pieces, this one was the most difficult.
Took me nearly eight hours to assemble. As usual with most IKEA furniture, the next Hemnes chest will take half that long. With a 6 drawer dresser or 6 drawer chest, the options for storage are limitless.

The big drawer holds about 15 pairs of folded pants or 30 T-shirts. This high chest gives you plenty of storage without taking up too much room. You definitely get what you pay for. Assembly was not any more difficult than other Ikea furniture.

The six wide drawers on this double dresser will help you sort and organize all your clothes, from summer tank tops to big winter sweaters. They’ll also be useful for storing your blankets and other bedding.
And the wide top surface on this piece is great for showcasing accessories you’d like to keep close at hand, like perfume or makeup. Beautiful dresser, does hold a lot but came apart in a week. Or do I need to keep it intact? We are very happy with the large size drawers. This fits all my husband's clothes with room to spare. The build process took us a couple hours, but it came together nicely in the end.

Then once I spent two hours putting it together I found out that the drawers are horribly unsmooth and basically stick shut. No wonder they have issues with tipping over, you almost have to tip it over just to open a drawer. The cheaper items actually are better quality somehow as we bought 4 total items and this was by far the worst... Satisfied overall, but the price was a little high. Everything looks nice, but there were several return trips due to broken pieces. Additionally, a few of the drawers don’t sit right and we had to shim this piece due to it rattling when we walked by it.
By using a renewable material like wood in this product, we avoid using fossil or finite materials. Made of solid wood, which is a durable and warm natural material. I previously had the smaller version and loved it. It holds up well and it easy to assemble. You’ll likely need 2 people for the larger dresser.
I bought a white Hemnes 4 years ago (for $100 less!) and all the drawers worked perfectly . However, this Hemnes has fit and finish problems. The drawer rollers rub against sides and don't close smoothly. Also, the actual gray is significantly darker than the photos imply.
Prevent tip-over injury or death. Furniture with included restraints must be secured to the wall according to the product’s assembly instructions. Took our family of four around two hours to build. Put it in my guest room and it’s working well.
